The showers have begun...and so has the countdown. The c-section is scheduled for November 30th. ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!!! My husband, being an English teacher, was given a 'book' shower. It was so much fun. We received many great books from a lot of his friends from work.
Today was my first shower. It was given by the ladies in my Bible study. About 40 women attended and I received SO much stuff. It was strange being on the receiving side of a baby shower. It was even kind of hard. So many times I have silently cried while watching friends and family open adorable teeny clothes and sweet cards. Today was my turn. There were definitely some tears--tears of joy obviously but tears of sadness for all the loss over the past seven years. I am so grateful for our birthmother and the ultimate gift she is giving us.

O.K. I know- I am up way too late checking blogs and such, but I am so excited that your are being showered so lovingly.... You deserve every last moment of joy my sweet friend!
How exciting about the showers for Kara. You've waited so long for this, enjoy!! I can't believe Kara will be here in less than a month. Believe me, I know how excited you are. Please keep us posted
So glad you are getting to have showers, something I have to do after the fact... But hey it's worth it.
