I thought I had at least a few more months before we needed to deal with teething. Nope. Poor little Kara has been drooling like crazy for about two weeks and has been chewing on as much of her fist as she can fit into her mouth. The past four or five days she has been sleeping more than usual and having horrible pain in her gums. It is evidently "pre"teething which is deeper below the gumline. Baby Orajel...etc. does no good. Chewing madly on her pacifier helps a little but it is more where the molars will be. It is so sad. She screams out of pain and frustration. Today was about 35 minutes. Then I stripped her down and gave her a warm bath. During the bath she smiled and just looked at me with pure love and happiness. I felt awful for her. When I got her dressed again she started the screaming again for another 35 minutes or so. She finally fell asleep on my chest probably just worn out from the work. We have been doing all we can with the Infant Tylenol but it doesn't seem to help much. The cold teethers don't get back far enough. :( To top it off, my mom can finally drive again and tomorrow should have been a normal work day for me. My mom has a fever tonight. I will be staying home with Kara tomorrow. AND, I just got a migraine and can barely see the screen. More later...

Good Luck with teething! It lasts FOREVER! Taylor has been whining, drooling, crying, and being grumpy for 2 months now...and still no teeth! And as soon as they break through, she is working on the next one! Such a fun ride! She sure is cute though! Katelyn & Taylor loved sucking and chewing on really cold/frozen wet wash cloths. They work great, and aren't hard like the toys...hope that helps!
poor Kara thats not a happy time. well hopefully it will get better.and im sorry for your migraine. i hope you have a better day tomorrow
How can something that cute cry? I'm sure you've thought about this, but what about an ear infection? Hope you guys are feeling better soon. Just keep in mind that it gets better.
I guess you gotta have times like these to appreciate the quiet ones. :) Hope your migraine doesn't last long!
I am so sorry she is doing it so early! I talked to my mom about it last night and she said that her side of the family are early teethers...she was 2 1/2 months old when she got her first tooth! Emily I think was 3 or 4 months. The only thing that helped her was chewing on my finger or a wet washcloth. I hope your mom gets better soon, she has been through a lot lately.
Hylands Teething tabs, the dissovle quickly under their tongue or on her gums! They work miracles and are all natural.
Also try some Infant Motrin instead of Tylenol, it helps much better with inflammation/pain and last much longer.
I'm dealing with a teething monster also.
