Sorry I haven't been blogging lately. I have been taking care of Kara and Aaron. Kara had her 3rd UTI and then got the stomach flu. Aaron got the stomach flu a day and a half later---then my parents got it a day and a half after Aaron. Somehow I haven't gotten it...yet. Hopefully it will just pass me by. Aaron even took a day off of work! I have had to take a few days because my mom was way too sick to even move out of her bed!
Kara has changed so much just in the last week. She signs 'please' and 'thank you' now along with her old ones of milk, more, and hungry. She learned please because I was about to go out of my mind. All she wants is either 1. My COMPLETE undivided attention or 2. To be doing whatever I am doing or at least up close watching it. She was continually tugging on my pant leg and whining so I taught her 'please'. So now she just comes up to me (or Aaron), looks up at us with her big, brown eyes, and signs please. She is going to get anything in the world she wants with that look. She also gives hugs and Eskimo kisses that are so sweet.
Ok, one weird thing. Maybe experienced moms can give me some advice. When Kara gets frustrated now (diaper changes, not getting her way...) she either pulls her hair or bites her finger. Twice tonight she actually bit her finger and left marks. She cried like she had been beaten! What the heck?

I know the biting thing with Kara sounds weird, but it's normal at her age. They have all of these new emotions that they are learning and don't know what to do with them. So they end up doing physical things to express their emotions. It will stop as she learns to express her emotions better. Hope that helps:)
Welcome to the bizarre circus called "Terrible Twos", my friend. They start way before 2 and keep going after 3, I hear.
What Jamie said!
Flemings is great. You and aaron should go. We went to the new one in LA by the Staples center. But there is one in Woodland Hills. Thanks for always being so complimentary. Every pregnant woman wants to hear they are glowing!!
Hailey's worst temper tantrum stage was when she couldn't communicate well. She still has tantrums now, but I am able to stop her and help her express she needs help, or whatever before it explodes out of control. Keep encouraging the signing and language and hopefully the stage wont last long. We miss you guys. We're planning a spring break trip down the last week of March. Maybe we can see you then!
What she is doing is so normal. They get frustrated when they can't communicate. If you know what she is trying to say help her find a better way, but I wouldn't worry. She is a bright girl and figure it out quickly. I always tried to relate it to myself to being in a foreign country and not knowing the language and how frustrating that would be.
