Great News!!!

Today I took Kara to her regular pediatrician and Kara does have thrush. I got the medicine for it and luckily it hadn't gotten too bad. Also, the doctor had already gotten the reports from the tests on Monday. The radiologist's report was quite a bit different than what we were expecting. He reported a MILD case of reflux on both sides and labeled it a ONE out of five. Not a 3 or 4 out of five like the technician was telling us. OH MY GOSH! We are so relieved. Our doctor said that since we are so 'on top of things' and catch Kara's UTIs before she even has a fever or any real signs she doesn't want to just put her on antibiotics until the condition hopefully corrects itself. She said to keep doing what we have been doing and get her back to their office the minute we suspect anything. It really meant a lot to me that she respects/trusts me enough as Kara's mom to take care of this. So, for now, we do nothing. We wait and pray that she just grows out of it without too many more UTIs in the process. Obviously, if she has a lot they will have to put her on the antibiotics long term and do more tests. Right now she is peacefully sleeping in her cozy crib, with new pjs on, clean bedding, and her favorite nighttime cd playing. All is right in her world.

All is right indeed! I am so relieved as well that the news was better than expected. The doctor is absolutely correct in trusting you as Kara's mommy. You do an amazing job. :)

PHEW! So good to hear! THIS is why they don't let the technicians read the results!!!

Well the doctor and I must think a lot alike because I wouldn't trust Kara with anyone other than you and Aaron. You both are completely amazing parents. Kara is so blessed to have you two. Thank you for taking such great care of her.

I was in Oregon when I finally got the "good" news. Tis an amazing thing what good parents are capable of. It's very satisfying to know that Kara is cared for and loved so much by some amazing parents. :)
